The process combines questionnaires, a detailed clinical interview, supporting information where available, and a separate feedback discussion.
Prepare
Complete the pre-assessment questionnaires and gather any useful records you already have.
Attend in person
Meet Dr Saini for a 60-minute assessment at West Pennant Hills.
Clinical review
Your developmental history, current functioning and possible overlapping explanations are considered.
Receive an outcome
Return for feedback, usually around two weeks later, with a written outcome and management plan.

Preparing for assessment
Bring what you have. Do not wait for perfect records.
Supporting information can help show the longer pattern, but not having every document should not stop you booking.
Most helpful
Primary or high school reports, especially teacher comments, plus previous psychology, psychiatry, paediatric or learning reports.
Medication information
Bring a current medication list and, where possible, details of medicines you have tried previously.
If available
Input from someone who knew you in childhood, or relevant university, TAFE and workplace records.

Included
Pre-assessment questionnaires, a 60-minute in-person assessment, review of available supporting information, a dedicated second feedback appointment, and a written diagnostic outcome and management plan.
The second feedback appointment is bulk billed for eligible Medicare patients. Payment is pre-authorised when you book and charged after the first appointment. A separate HotDoc fee may appear at checkout.
After assessment
The useful outcome is clarity about what happens next.
If ADHD is diagnosed
You will discuss an individual management plan, which may include medication, psychological strategies, sleep, lifestyle measures or other supports.
If it is not ADHD
You will still receive an explanation of the findings and recommended next steps. The assessment does not depend on reaching a particular diagnosis.
If specialist input is safer
Complexity, significant safety concerns or diagnostic uncertainty may require psychiatrist, paediatrician or other specialist involvement.

Do I need a referral?
No. Adults can book the assessment directly with Dr Saini through HotDoc.
Does booking guarantee an ADHD diagnosis?
No. The purpose is to determine whether ADHD is the best explanation for your difficulties and to recommend appropriate next steps.
Does a diagnosis guarantee medication?
No. Treatment recommendations depend on your clinical circumstances, preferences, medical history and safety considerations.
Does the first appointment have to be in person?
Yes, ordinarily. The first assessment is completed at Rosedale Medical Practice in West Pennant Hills. Contact reception before booking if you genuinely cannot attend.
What if I do not have school reports or a childhood informant?
Provide whatever information you have. Those sources can help, but you should not delay care because every childhood record or observer is not available.
