Refer a patient for ADHD assessment

Dr Jaspreet Saini, FRACGP, is a NSW Health endorsed GP prescriber. He provides adult ADHD assessment, diagnosis, treatment initiation and ongoing care at Rosedale Medical Practice, West Pennant Hills.

We have looked after West Pennant Hills families since 1997. Shared care is available. With the patient's consent, we send you a letter after the feedback visit.

Who to refer

We assess adults from 18. Dr Saini also treats and manages children from age 6.

Adults 18+

Seeking assessment

Adults who want a formal ADHD assessment with an endorsed GP.

Existing diagnosis

Initiation or restart

Adults with a diagnosis who have never started treatment, were never stable, or need to restart. The original diagnostic letter is sufficient.

Stable 3+ months

Continuation

Patients with a diagnosis, already on treatment and stable for 3 months or more. They can see our continuation GPs.

Children 6+

Children and adolescents 6 to 17

Dr Saini provides GP treatment initiation and ongoing care from age 6 where appropriate, working with the child's existing psychologist or paediatric assessment. Ask us about assessment options for children.

Who is not suitable at this time

We do not offer a funded or public ADHD assessment. An overseas diagnosis usually means a fresh assessment, unless a detailed psychiatrist report allows the initiation pathway.

  • Funded or public assessment. Rosedale does not offer a funded or public ADHD assessment. Assessments are privately billed.
  • Overseas diagnosis. NSW does not accept an overseas diagnosis for continuation, so a fresh assessment is generally required. If the patient has a detailed overseas psychiatrist report and treatment history, Dr Saini can use the initiation pathway instead.

What the pathway looks like

Two visits about 3 to 4 weeks apart, then ongoing care, usually by telehealth across NSW.

  1. Questionnaires. The patient completes them before the first visit.

  2. Visit 1, 60 minutes in person. Held at West Pennant Hills with Dr Saini.

  3. Feedback visit, 3 to 4 weeks later. A feedback visit about 3 to 4 weeks after visit 1.

  4. Ongoing care. Usually by telehealth across NSW.

With the patient's consent, we send you a letter after the feedback visit. Shared care is available if you would like to stay involved in treatment. See ADHD co-management and shared care in NSW.

Fees

These are private fees. Each includes the $2.45 platform fee. The adult assessment fee covers both the first visit and the feedback visit.

ServicePrivate fee
Adult ADHD assessment$1,202.45
Initiation (existing diagnosis)$452.45

How to refer

Adults 18+ can book directly. No referral is required for adults or children. A letter from a GP or psychologist is welcome and helps us prepare.

If you do send a letter, helpful content is the reason for referral, relevant history, current medicines and any previous assessments.

Wondering if an assessment is right for you?

Start with our free 2-minute fit check. It tells you plainly whether a full assessment is the right next step. You can then ask about an in-person assessment with our team in West Pennant Hills.
