Is a formal ADHD assessment
the right next step?
A few short, free questions to help you work out what to do next. If an assessment is not right for you, we will tell you plainly.
This is a short screening quiz, not a diagnosis. It cannot diagnose ADHD or rule it out. Only a full assessment with a doctor can do that. For adults, it uses the Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS v1.1), made with the World Health Organization and tested in people aged 18 and over. There is no quick self-report check like this for children, so we do not try one. You see your result on screen as soon as you finish. We ask for your contact details at the end so our reception team can help with the right next step.
Who is this check for?
Our adult and child pathways are quite different, so we need to know this first.
Have you been diagnosed with ADHD before?
If you already have a diagnosis, you may not need a full assessment. You may just need the right next visit.
Where was that diagnosis made?
This matters a lot. NSW prescribing rules treat an Australian diagnosis and an overseas one very differently.
Over the past 6 months, how often...
There are no right or wrong answers. For each one, pick the answer that fits you most.

How much do these difficulties affect daily life?
Think about work or study, relationships, money and running your home. This counts a lot in your result.
How old is your child?
Age changes who should do the assessment. Before school age, ADHD is hard to tell apart from normal development, so it is handled differently.
Has your child already been diagnosed with ADHD?
If your child already has a diagnosis, they usually do not need a full assessment.
Do you live in New South Wales?
Each state has its own rules for ADHD medicines. Our service can only assess and prescribe for people who live in NSW, so we need to ask first.
One last thing, how do we reach you?
Your result shows on the next screen either way. Your details let our reception team help you with the right next step, so you are not left to work it out alone.
Please add your name, a valid email, mobile, and tick the box to continue.
Your answers are sent securely to the practice. This check does not create a medical record and does not replace a visit with a doctor.
This result is a guide, not a diagnosis. It does not promise any assessment outcome. If you are in distress or need urgent help, contact your GP, call 000, or call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
Is there a free ADHD test for adults?
Rosedale's ADHD fit check is a free, two-minute screening quiz for adults. It uses the Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS v1.1), made with the World Health Organization. It cannot diagnose ADHD or rule it out; only a full assessment with a doctor can. A formal assessment at Rosedale is a paid appointment. The fit check tells you plainly whether an assessment looks like the right next step.

Common questions
Does the ADHD fit check diagnose ADHD?
No. It is a short screening quiz and cannot diagnose ADHD or rule it out. Only a full assessment with a doctor can do that. The adult version uses the Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS v1.1), made with the World Health Organization, and shows your result on screen as soon as you finish.
Is there a free ADHD assessment in NSW?
The fit check is free, but a formal assessment at Rosedale is a paid appointment. NSW Health has announced funded assessments for priority groups; details are still to be published. Check the NSW Health ADHD page for the latest details on who can access them.
Is there a check for children?
No. There is no quick self-report check like this for children, so we do not offer one. Parents can use the fit check to find the right pathway for a child. The right pathway depends on the child's age and on whether they already have a diagnosis.
What happens to my answers?
Your answers are sent securely to the practice, and you agree to be contacted using the details you give. Our reception team then helps with the right next step. The check does not create a medical record and does not replace a visit with a doctor.
