- Make minor dose adjustments within approved limits
- Switch between formulations of the same medication
- Work in shared care with your specialist
- Prescribe for ages 6 and over
What we can't do yet
- Diagnose ADHD for the first time
- Restart medication after an extended break
- Switch you between different medications, this needs your specialist
- Increase doses above NSW Health approved limits without specialist input
More than just a script.
Continuation care isn't a script-and-go service. It's ongoing GP management, the way ADHD care is meant to be delivered.
Ongoing script management
Stimulant and non-stimulant prescriptions managed in line with NSW Health and RACGP guidelines. No fragmented care, no phone-around-for-a-pharmacy.
Physical & mental health checks
Blood pressure, heart rate, weight, sleep, and mood reviewed at every visit. Adjustments made early, not after problems emerge.
Whole-person care
ADHD often overlaps with anxiety, sleep, gut health, and nutrition. Connected with our psychologist, dietitian, and allied health team, all on-site.

The questions adults and parents ask most often when transferring ADHD care to Rosedale.
What if I haven't been diagnosed with ADHD yet?
Our GPs currently provide continuation prescribing only, which means care for patients who have already been diagnosed and started on ADHD medication by a specialist. If you haven't been diagnosed yet, you have two options. First, you can join our diagnosis waitlist, our GPs are training in ADHD diagnosis and initiation, with this service expected to open in Q3 2026. Second, you can see a private psychiatrist or paediatrician for assessment now. Once you've been diagnosed and stable on medication for a few months, our doctors can take over your ongoing care under continuation prescribing.
What if my specialist letter is older than 12 months?
To take over ADHD prescribing under continuation, NSW Health requires a specialist letter from within the last 12 months confirming your current diagnosis, medication, and that you're stable on treatment. If your letter is older than that, you have two pathways. First, get an updated letter, a short review appointment with your psychiatrist (or any psychiatrist) to confirm your current stability gives us what we need. Second, if a fresh specialist visit isn't practical, join our diagnosis waitlist, our diagnosis service opens Q3 2026 and you'd be reassessed by us directly.
What if I'm not stable on my medication yet?
Continuation prescribing requires evidence you've been stable on your current medication, meaning your dose has settled, side effects are managed, and your specialist has confirmed you're tracking well. This usually takes a few months from when you first start treatment. If you've recently begun medication, continue your specialist reviews until they're satisfied you're stable. Once they write a letter confirming this (within the last 12 months), get back in touch and we'll take over your ongoing care. In the meantime, you're welcome to book in with any of our GPs for general health care. We just can't manage the ADHD scripts until you're stable.
What if my specialist won't transfer my care to a GP?
Some specialists, particularly paediatric ADHD specialists, have a policy of not formally transferring patients to GP continuation prescribing. When that's the case, you still have two options. First, shared care with Dr Saini, Dr Saini can work alongside your specialist under a shared-care arrangement. Your specialist guides the overall treatment plan, and Dr Saini manages the regular reviews and prescriptions in between specialist visits. You'll need your specialist's agreement to share care with us. Many specialists are happy to do this even if they don't formally transfer the patient. Second, wait for our diagnosis service, opening Q3 2026, where you'd be fully reassessed and managed under our care from then on. Join the waitlist on HotDoc.
What if I've been off ADHD medication for a while?
Restarting ADHD medication after an extended break is treated as a fresh assessment under NSW Health rules, even if your original diagnosis and medication haven't changed. It sits in the same pathway as a new diagnosis. This means our continuation prescribers can't restart you on medication directly. Two paths forward. First, join our diagnosis and reinitiation waitlist, our GPs are training in ADHD diagnosis and initiation, opening Q3 2026. Note on the form that you've been previously diagnosed. Second, see a psychiatrist to re-establish on medication. Once you've been stable on it again for a few months, our doctors can take over your ongoing care.
Do you offer shared care with my psychiatrist?
Yes, Dr Saini offers shared care for adults and children. Shared care is a formal arrangement where your psychiatrist or paediatrician remains involved in your overall ADHD treatment plan, while Dr Saini manages your regular reviews and prescriptions between specialist visits. This means fewer specialist appointments while keeping their oversight. Shared care involves more frequent reviews than standard continuation to keep your treatment safe and on track. Fees depend on the length of each visit. Reception can give you an estimate at 02 9680 9644. If you're interested, your specialist will need to agree to the shared-care arrangement. Most are happy to do this, worth asking them directly at your next visit.
Do I need a new specialist appointment first?
No, in most cases. But you do need a recent specialist letter, ideally your original diagnosis letter, or at minimum your most recent psychiatrist or paediatrician letter listing your current medication and dose and confirming stability. We can't book your first appointment without one.
What if I don't have any specialist letter?
We can't book your first appointment without one. Reach out to your previous specialist's clinic. Most can re-issue a letter or summary on request. If your specialist is unreachable or you've never had documentation, you'll need a new specialist review before transferring continuation care to us.
How often will I need to come in?
Typically every 3 to 6 months, depending on your stability, age, and medication. Children and adolescents are usually reviewed more frequently. All scripts are issued at scheduled review consults, in person or via telehealth, so we can monitor your progress properly.
Can I be bulk-billed?
ADHD continuation care is privately billed for all patients to allow longer consults and proper monitoring. Medicare rebates apply, fees and gaps are published above.
Can I do my appointments via telehealth?
Yes, for continuation appointments. Once you're an established patient, follow-up reviews can be conducted via secure telehealth video, useful if you're travelling, unwell, or simply prefer it.
Will I see the same GP every visit?
Yes. You'll choose between Dr Saini or Dr Paul at your first visit and stay with that GP for ongoing care. Continuity is the point.
What about my child's school or sports forms?
We can complete medication letters for schools, camps, and sporting bodies during a review consult, no separate appointment needed for most forms.
Why people move their ADHD care to a Rosedale GP.
One doctor who knows your whole picture.
A specialist sees you once or twice a year. A GP continuation prescriber sees you regularly, knows your history, your other health needs, and your family. ADHD stops being managed in isolation.
Seen in weeks, not months.
Private psychiatry waitlists can run three to six months for a review. Continuation appointments here are usually available within one to two weeks, in person or by telehealth across NSW.
Lower ongoing cost, everything in one place.
Ongoing GP reviews cost less than repeat private psychiatry visits, and your scripts, health monitoring, school or work letters, and allied health referrals are all handled in the same place.
Continuation prescribing is for patients already diagnosed and stable on treatment. Your specialist stays available for complex changes.
Ready to book?
Most patients are seen within weeks. Book your continuation consult below, or call reception for guidance.
In-house allied health, when you need it.
When you book ADHD continuation care at Rosedale, you also get access to two in-house allied health clinicians who work alongside our GPs, available when (and only when) it's clinically useful.
