A full report from a psychologist, psychiatrist or paediatrician may be enough to start treatment. We look at each report case by case. Short reports and reports from overseas can still help, but you may need more assessment.

- Who diagnosed you and their qualifications
- Signs that your symptoms started in childhood
- How ADHD affects different parts of your life
- The tests used, and input from others such as family
- Other conditions that were considered, and the clinician's summary

What the visit covers
A review of your report, your health and medicine history, a health check, your treatment options and, if right for you, a plan to start and monitor treatment.
Prices include HotDoc's $2.45 booking fee. This visit is privately billed for all patients. Tests, medicine and later check-ups are charged separately. You may need blood tests, an ECG, a urine test, more records or NSW Health approval before treatment starts.

Can I book an ADHD medication initiation consultation before report review?
No, please send your full diagnostic report first. Checking it first confirms that initiation is the right pathway, so you don't pay for the wrong appointment.
Can a psychologist's ADHD diagnosis be accepted?
Yes, a full psychologist report may be accepted, but we review each one case by case. It should cover your childhood history, how ADHD affects your life, the diagnostic criteria and other conditions that were considered.
What if I was diagnosed with ADHD overseas?
Send us your full report and we will review it. Depending on its detail and NSW rules, you may need more assessment or confirmation from an Australian specialist.
Is ADHD medication initiation available by telehealth?
No. Your initiation consultation is in person at West Pennant Hills, so we can do a health check and a proper safety review.
Does an accepted report guarantee ADHD medication?
No. An accepted report means you can go ahead to a consultation. The doctor decides on treatment after seeing you, and a script is never guaranteed.
