A comprehensive psychologist, psychiatrist or paediatric report may support initiation, but acceptance is decided case by case. Overseas and brief reports can still be useful, though further assessment may be needed.
The diagnostic report should address
- The diagnosing clinician and their credentials
- Evidence of symptoms beginning in childhood
- Impairment across relevant areas of life
- Assessment tools and collateral information used
- Relevant differential diagnoses and clinical formulation

What the visit covers
Review of accepted diagnostic evidence, medical and medication history, treatment options, physical observations, and an individual initiation and monitoring plan where appropriate.
Private billing applies to all patients. Investigations, medication and later follow-up appointments are separate. Blood tests, ECG, urine screening, more evidence or NSW authority may be required before treatment begins.

Can I book before my report is reviewed?
Please send the full report first. Pre-review confirms whether initiation is the appropriate pathway and reduces the risk of paying for the wrong appointment.
Can a psychologist's diagnosis be accepted?
A comprehensive psychologist report may provide suitable evidence, but it is reviewed case by case and should address developmental history, impairment, criteria and differential diagnoses.
What if I was diagnosed overseas?
Send the complete report. Depending on its detail, the clinician and NSW requirements, further assessment or Australian specialist confirmation may be needed.
Is initiation available by telehealth?
No. The initiation consultation is completed in person at West Pennant Hills so current observations, examination and an appropriate safety assessment can be completed.
Does an accepted report guarantee medication?
No. Acceptance means the report supports proceeding to a clinical consultation. Medication is recommended only if it is clinically appropriate after the full review.
