Referrals and rebates
You can book directly, or start with your Specialist GP.
A referral is not usually required for a private allied health appointment. You may need a referral and an eligible plan if you want to claim a Medicare rebate.
Choose the clinician
Use the direct profile links above to see current appointment types and times. New patients are welcome where availability is shown.
Check your referral pathway
A Chronic Condition Management Plan may support eligible podiatry or dietetic care. A Mental Health Treatment Plan may support eligible psychology care.
Confirm fees and rebates
Fees and rebates differ by provider, appointment and eligibility. Check the booking information and ask your insurer about any private health extras cover.
Not sure whether a plan or referral is appropriate? Book with your Rosedale Specialist GP to discuss your health needs. Plans are prepared only when clinically appropriate and Medicare requirements are met.
Book a Specialist GPWhat to bring to your first appointment.
You do not need to arrive with everything perfectly organised. Bring the information you already have and anything the clinician asks for when you book.
For podiatry
Bring your usual shoes, current orthotics, relevant scans or reports, and your care plan and referral if you are using an eligible Medicare pathway.
For dietetics
Bring recent blood results, relevant medical letters and your medicine list. A food or symptom record can help if Mary-Anne asks you to complete one.
For psychology
Bring your Mental Health Treatment Plan or referral if applicable, plus relevant reports. Confirm parent or guardian attendance requirements when booking for a young person.
Questions before you book.
Do I need a referral for an allied health appointment?
Not usually if you are booking and paying privately. A referral and an eligible care plan may be required if you want to claim a Medicare rebate. Check the requirements for the clinician and appointment you choose.
Can I claim a Medicare rebate?
Some patients may be eligible. Podiatry and dietetic rebates can apply under an eligible Chronic Condition Management Plan. Psychology rebates can apply with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan. Eligibility and service limits apply.
Can I use private health insurance?
Your extras cover may contribute to some allied health appointments. Cover and rebate amounts differ between policies, so check with your health fund before the appointment.
How much will my appointment cost?
Fees vary by clinician and appointment type. Review the current information during booking or call Rosedale reception on 02 9680 9644 if you need help finding the right contact.
Will the allied health clinician communicate with my Specialist GP?
With your consent and when clinically useful, the clinician may provide relevant information to your referrer or usual Specialist GP. Ask your clinician how information will be shared and recorded.
Where are allied health appointments held?
Appointments are held at Rosedale Medical Practice, Ground Floor, 70 Castle Hill Road, West Pennant Hills NSW 2125. Free on-site parking and wheelchair access are available.
