Your Choice - Investing in Your Health

We understand that you have the choice of which practice you choose to call your medical home. By choosing Rosedale Medical Practice, you’ve told us that you see value in what we provide to you and your family as a general practice. We are committed to delivering on this value. With everything we do, we aim to reinforce to you why a healthy, continuous and long-term relationship with our practice is a wise investment for you and your family.

Our Commitment To You - Providing High-Quality Care

At Rosedale Medical Practice, we are committed to providing you with the kind of health care that you want, need and deserve. Just like you, we’ve also made a choice. Rather than seeing an ever increasing number of patients per hour, we’ve chosen to prioritise providing our patients and community with unhurried, compassionate, innovative, personalised and quality-focused health care. It’s this choice that has earned us our reputation as a leading general practice, home to a fabulous team who genuinely love what they do, and patients that have been loyal to our practice for as many as five generations.

What Do Our Fees Cover?

At Rosedale Medical Practice, our fees cover the cost of:

  • Skilled doctors and practice nurses who have spent many years learning how to take good care of you
  • Talented practice manager and receptionists who ensure our practice runs smoothly
  • Ongoing professional development and training
  • Accreditation so you can be confident that our practice meets high standards of safety and quality
  • Premises that are comfortable, accessible and practical
  • Medical & office equipment and most consumables
  • Insurance and utility bills
  • IT systems and equipment
  • Patient communication systems to remind you of appointments and make it easy for you to communicate with us.
How Do We Set Our Fees?
Every year, the Australian Medical Association conducts careful research about the true costs of running a high quality general practice. The AMA makes recommendations for the fees doctors shoud charge for each Medicare item number. Our fees are in line with these recommendations.
Why is there a Gap?
Your patient rebate from Medicare was frozen from 2012 until 2017 and the most recent increase was below the consumer price index. This widening gap is explained in the following link from the Australian Medical Association (click here).

This means that your patient Medicare rebate now represents less than half of the full cost of your GP care.

The AMA suggests that you talk to your local Federal MP if you have concerns about the cost of your health care. You can do this by clicking here.

What If I Have Financial Difficulties?
From time to time, we may be able to offer alternative payment arrangements to our existing patients with genuine financial difficulty. If you have concerns about your capacity to pay for your general practice health care, please contact our Practice Manager Gurleen Saini on 02 9680 9644.

Increased Fees to commence 3rd May 2021

  • Our doctors are skilled in performing a range of procedures such as the removal of skin lesions and Implanon insertion
  • The cost of these procedures will vary depending on their complexity
  • Your doctor will perform an initial consult to discuss any procedure with you, and will be able to provide you with more information regarding fees during this consult

Bulk Billing

  • Children 5 years and under
  • Pension Card Holders
  • Bulk billing of any consultations is at the discretion of each Medical Practitioner
  • Patients must have a valid Medicare Card

What To Know When Booking Your Next Appointment

Standard consultations are up to 15 minutes in length. When booking your appointment, please let the receptionist know if you require a longer consultation. We offer the convenience of online booking through HotDoc to make it even easier for you to book your next appointment.

We are a private billing practice and offer bulk billing to Pension Card Holders and children under 5 years of age. All other consultations are privately charged and are to be paid on the day of consultation. For your convenience, online claiming allows you to claim your rebate on the spot.

Recall and reminder system

Our doctors use this system to follow up on your results and upcoming procedures. Patients are automatically enrolled in some reminder systems, such as state cervical screening program register, bowel screening or mammograms. Please let reception know if you wish to opt out.

Our reception team and nurses are not permitted to give out results to patients, unless specifically instructed by your doctor. In most instances, you will need to book a follow-up appointment with your doctor to receive your results.

Continuity of care

It is important to develop an ongoing relationship with your GP. This is particularly important if coming for results from your previous visit. Evidence shows that seeing the same GP results in improved patient outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Patient feedback

We welcome both positive and negative feedback in order to improve our service. Please email our practice manager Gurleen Saini on or leave a message in the feedback box in the reception area.

It is a good idea to discuss the complaint with us in the first instance.

However, if you are not satisfied with our actions, you may contact either the Health Care Complaints Commissioner Ph: 1800 043 159 or the NSW Ombudsman on 1800 451 524 to discuss your complaint.
