Appointment Booking Guide
How can I get the most value out of my appointment?
Your doctors, dietitian and practice pharmacist hope to provide you with the greatest value during each of your medical appointments.
In this guide, you will find essential information on appointment booking, including things you can do prior to, during and after your appointment.
Booking your Appointment
Choose your Appointment Type
Our standard consultations are up to 15 minutes long, providing ample time for most medical issues. During this time, our doctors will assess your condition, provide treatment or advice, and answer any questions you may have.
For those who require more time, we offer longer consultations upon request when booking an appointment. This is especially helpful for patients who have multiple issues to discuss with their doctor or who need a more in-depth assessment.
Book Online or Call Us
We understand that booking an appointment can be time-consuming, which is why we offer a range of options to make the process as easy as possible. You can book an appointment online through HotDoc, providing a convenient and easy way to schedule your next visit. If you prefer, you can also call our practice to book an appointment over the phone.
Arrival and Check In
If you are a new patient, we request that you arrive 10-15 minutes early for your appointment to complete the necessary paperwork. For existing patients, please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid incurring a fee. If you are running late for your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Check Out
To ensure continuity of care, we encourage you to book your follow-up appointment at the time of making payment and checking out from the practice. Hopefully, this also means that you are able to book in with your preferred doctor at a time that is convenient for you. Please ensure that you have taken away what you need from your appointment, such as your script, referral or medical certificate.
Recalls and Reminders
To help ensure your health and wellbeing, we have a recall and reminder system in place to follow up on your results and upcoming procedures. This system is especially helpful for patients who require regular check-ups or who have ongoing medical conditions.
You may be automatically enrolled in some reminder systems, such as the state cervical screening program register, bowel screening, or mammograms. If you wish to opt out, please let our reception know, and we will ensure that you are not contacted regarding these services.
Results and Follow-Up Appointments
Our doctors prioritise your privacy and care, which is why our reception team and nurses are not permitted to give out results to patients unless specifically instructed by your doctor. In most instances, you will need to book a follow-up appointment with your doctor to receive your results and discuss any further steps.
We believe in the importance of developing an ongoing relationship with your GP to achieve improved patient outcomes and patient satisfaction, especially if you’re coming in for results from your previous visit. Our doctors are always happy to answer any questions you may have about your health and wellbeing.
Feedback
We value your feedback and encourage both positive and negative comments to help us improve our service. If you feel your needs have not been met, are unsure about the advice given to you by your doctor, or are dissatisfied with your consultation, please let the reception team know so that they can assist you or escalate your feedback to the Practice Manager.
You can email our practice manager, Gurleen Saini, at admin@rosedalesurgery.com.au, or leave a message in the feedback box in the reception area.
We encourage you to discuss any complaints with us first. However, if you are not satisfied with our actions, you may contact the Health Care Complaints Commissioner at 1800 043 159 or the NSW Ombudsman at 1800 451 524 to discuss your complaint.
