Fees and Billing

Consultation Fees

Welcome. Your health, comfort, and peace of mind matter to us. To help make things clear, here is how our fees work — consultation rates, Medicare rebates, bulk billing, and some tips on keeping out-of-pocket costs as low as possible.

Why There’s a Gap Fee (and What You Get)

We want every appointment to give you time, attention and superior care — not just a quick check-off. The gap fee helps us to:

  • offer longer, unrushed appointments

  • attract and support highly trained doctors, nurses and staff

  • use modern, safe and accredited facilities

  • focus on team-based, proactive care, not just patch-ups

We believe you deserve the same care we’d give our own family.

Who Can Be Bulk Billed

We want to make care accessible. We bulk-bill (i.e. no gap fee) for:

  • children aged 4 years and under

  • valid Pension Card holders

  • DVA Gold Card holders

If money’s tight or you’re experiencing financial hardship, please reach out, we’ll do our best to help.

Bulk-billing for children and teens with our GP Registrars

In addition to Pension Card holders and DVA Gold Card Holders, our GP Registrars Dr Gareth Mason and Dr Michael Lin currently offer bulk-billed appointments for children and teens under 16 years of age.
Registrars are fully qualified doctors completing advanced specialist training in general practice and are closely supported by our senior GPs. Seeing a GP Registrar is a great option if you’re looking for accessible care with longer appointment availability.

How to Reduce Your Costs
  • Book a Standard consult for single-issue visits — fast, focused and lower cost.

  • Use HotDoc for “Repeat Prescriptions & Referrals” when possible — no need for a full appointment.

  • Children (4 and under) with a valid Medicare card = no out-of-pocket cost.

  • Ask about Medicare-covered health assessments and chronic condition care plans — these can help offset or eliminate fees.

What Kind of Appointment Should You Book?
Appointment Type What’s Best For Typical Duration*
Standard Consult One issue (e.g. sore throat, prescription refill) ~10-12 mins (includes time for notes, referrals etc.)
Long Consult Multiple concerns, complex issues ~20-23 mins

Actual appointment times may vary depending on what’s needed.

If you expect to need more time (for example, starting a new treatment plan, reviewing multiple conditions or needing detailed discussion), let us know — we can arrange a longer consult to fit your needs.

Procedures and Skin-Related Services

  • If during a skin check or spot check your doctor recommends a biopsy or procedure, extra fees will apply. We’ll always provide an estimate before going ahead.

  • For pensioners or DVA cardholders, bulk billing may apply for the consult; however, gap fees will apply for the procedure components.

  • For other minor surgeries (outside of skin cancer), fees typically range between $150-$350, plus a $40 consumables fee for anaesthetic, sterile materials etc.

WorkCover or Traffic Accident Commission (TAC) Claims

If you’re under WorkCover or TAC, here’s how it works:

  • Before your claim is approved, payment of fees is required at the time of the appointment.

  • Once your claim is accepted, we can direct-bill eligible services to your insurer.

  • We’ll give you a detailed receipt so you can claim back what’s reimbursable.

Not sure of your claim status? Just ask our reception — we’ll walk you through it.

Cancellation, Payments and Billing

  • If you need to cancel, please give at least 4 hours’ notice. Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee of 50% of the scheduled consultation.

  • We accept multiple payment methods: cash, EFTPOS, credit/debit cards (including AMEX and Diners). Some card types may have surcharges.

  • Consultation fees are due at the time of your appointment.

  • Unpaid accounts incur a $27 administration fee, and future bookings may be held until balances are cleared.

  • Experiencing financial difficulty? Let us know — there are sometimes options to help.
