This can be particularly helpful for individuals who have multiple health concerns or who prefer to have all of their healthcare needs addressed by a single provider.

Dr Vidgen offers a range of psychotherapy services, including individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy. She utilises a variety of therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic therapy, internal family systems (IFS) therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based therapy. Dr Vidgen works collaboratively with her patients to develop a personalised treatment plan that addresses their unique concerns and goals.

What is psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is a type of mental health treatment that involves talking to a trained professional about your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The goal of psychotherapy is to help individuals better understand themselves and their struggles, and to develop strategies for coping with difficult emotions and experiences.

Psychotherapy can be helpful for a range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues. There are many different types of psychotherapy, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and interpersonal therapy, among others.

In a psychotherapy session, you may discuss a wide range of topics, from childhood experiences to current stressors in your life. Your therapist will provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings and will work with you to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to your individual needs.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy allows you to gain insight into your experiences and develop personalised coping strategies to manage your mental health concerns.

Family Therapy

Family therapy helps families navigate difficult situations, improve communication, and strengthen relationships. Family therapy can be particularly effective for families dealing with issues such as divorce, parenting conflicts, or mental health concerns.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy

IFS therapy helps individuals to explore and understand their “parts”, manage their thoughts and emotions more effectively, resolve inner conflicts, and develop a stronger sense of self.
