Urgent Appointments: We reserve a number of emergency appointment slots with our doctors. If you feel you need to see your GP urgently, please call reception to discuss your needs and they will try their best to accommodate your request.
‘On the day’ appointments: We reserve a small number of appointment spots for patients that need a consultation with their doctor on the day. Please call us at 8am to maximise your chances of getting an appointment.
Home visits: In exceptional circumstances, home visits are available for regular patients whose condition prevents them from attending the surgery, but entirely at the doctor’s discretion.
Billing Policy: We are a private-billing patient and routinely bulk bill Pension Card Holders and children under 5 years of age. You can find out more about our fees by clicking here. Please note that a late cancellation or ‘no show’ fee may apply for missed appointments.
Communication Policy: Your call will be answered politely and efficiently. All telephone messages will be passed on to the Doctor or Nurse, who will respond according to the urgency as determined by the Doctor or Nurse. If you have a query or message for the doctor, staff will relay it to the doctor via an internal messaging system. Staff will only interrupt a consultation if the problem is life-threatening.
You may request our email address from the reception team. There is a risk that important clinical information sent to this email address may be missed or not picked up, particularly time-critical information. In addition, we urge all patients to carefully consider the issue of security before sending medical information via unencrypted mail. Also, please do not use normal post for forwarding time-critical information. We encourage patients to phone the practice or make an appointment to discuss clinical issues.
Interpreter Services: Patients who require communication assistance are asked to let reception staff know when making their appointment. We can organise translation services via Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) and the National Auslan Booking Service (NABS).
Privacy and Confidentiality: When you register as a patient of Rosedale Medical Practice in West Pennant Hills, you provide consent for our GPs and practice staff to access and use your personal information. You can click here to view our privacy and confidentiality policy, and learn more about how we use your personal information.

Booking an Appointment
What do I need to know when booking my appointment?
Should I book a short or long consultation?
Standard consultations are 15 minutes. When booking your appointment, please let the receptionist know if you require a longer consultation. We offer the convenience of online booking through HotDoc to make it even easier for you to book your next appointment.
Will I need to pay for my consultation?
We are a private billing practice and a fee of $80 is applicable for standard consultations. We offer bulk billing to Pension Card Holders and children under 5 years of age. All other consultations are privately charged and are to be paid on the day of consultation. For your convenience, online claiming allows you to claim your rebate on the spot.
How will I receive my results and important health reminders?
In most instances, you will need to book a follow-up appointment with your doctor to receive your results. Our reception team and nurses are not permitted to give out results to patients, unless specifically instructed by your doctor.
Patients are automatically enrolled in some reminder systems, such as state cervical screening program register, bowel screening or mammograms. You may also receive important health reminders via our online appointment and recalls management tool, HotDoc. These reminders will be sent out via SMS or email. Please let reception know if you wish to opt out.
Should I see the same GP within the practice?
It is important to develop an ongoing relationship with your GP. This is particularly important if coming for results from your previous visit. Evidence shows that seeing the same GP results in improved patient outcomes and patient satisfaction.
How do I provide feedback or make a complaint?
We welcome both positive and negative feedback in order to improve our service. Please email our practice manager Gurleen Saini on admin@rosedalesurgery.com.au or leave a message in the feedback box in the reception area.
It is a good idea to discuss the complaint with us in the first instance.
However, if you are not satisfied with our actions, you may contact either the Health Care Complaints Commissioner Ph: 1800 043 159 or the NSW Ombudsman on 1800 451 524 to discuss your complaint.

Tip: If you have more than one issue to discuss during your appointment, we suggest that you book a long consult. This will help to ensure that you have the time and space you need to discuss your concerns.
